I can definitely recommend when booking an apartment to stay in and get ready, to enquire about the penthouse suit if the complex has one. Chloe did this and It was excellent. The rooms were  huge and everyone could be there without feeling crowded. The large windows allowed a lot  of light into the rooms which was great to take photographs in.

Andrew and the boys got ready nearby too so it was fantastic to be able to just walk about the area without the sometimes stressful event of driving about with a large bridal party.

The day flew by and before we knew it, they were married and we were on the bridal shoot. We had heaps of time for some great shots. It is fantastic when a couple allow a nice amount of un-rushed time for this… and it shows in the images.

The reception was underway and we continued to photograph and film into the night. Great venue is the Surf club. In the top 5% for food quality… a real credit and great choice guys!

It is great to do wedding photography outside of Brisbane on occasion. I like the coast very much!

Meri and Alex had an awesome wedding with the Ceremony and Reception at Eves.

Alex had the last hour at a trendy Bar at Bulimba across the river and made his way to the ceremony by Ferry. Meri arrived by a 300c Limo… these are very nice.

Their family were great to be around and work with. We all had a great time an then proceeded off to the Bridal shoot. We had instructions to ‘get a few particular’ shots… but then shoot the rest of the day totally candid. This is a great idea that I have taken on board to employ with other couples. Instead of organising a photo shoot… I get you to organise yourselves an activity! It worked very good!

Doing wedding photography about the Brisbane river is always good and having a vibrant Bridal Party only adds to the situation. What a great day! 

There is usually Henna done on the Bride. This takes place a day or two before and is amazing in its fine detailed art work. There is always great food at these ceremony’s also

They are always big days with regards to the wedding photography. As a photographer, you must keep your eye on the clock! They have a habit of running late. Actually… they all run late. It is just a matter of how much… lol. This is one of the many things though a professional photographer brings to your day though. This, along with some pretty well refined people management skills and directing ability. Both of these things are never missed on an Indian wedding. Brides are always thankful for it as the thing that will be taxed as a result of it all… is the Bridal shoot usually. We have never been caught out with this.

After this we proceeded to a lovely property at Fernvale where we found the boys in wait. After taking some photographs there, we departed and met back up with Danni to get some shots with a most beautiful horse. For a Stalion he was most well behaved I must say. From there we pretty much ran a bit late all day…lol

The service was small and intimate and you could feel the meaning of every word spoken. It was not a long service by any means.

After the family photos, we departed for the bridal shoot on a wonderful property about 20 minutes out of town. I had no idea it was this far out and was in panic mode as to weather or not the Limo driver was doing a runner back up to Toowoomba or something, but we made the farm and all was good. We had about 20 minutes of light for the shoot and we all worked pretty hard… but we got the shots

But Laura and Chris soon figured that there was nothing

they could do and it was just best to go with the flow.

The ceremony was at Bundaleer Rainforest and their wedding was outdoor under a beautiful tree.

The sun was still shining however dark cloud was looming. They had frequent gentle

reminders… ‘EHm, we better hide under the deck soon’.

After the ceremony, a few photos were taken for the Bridal shoot… but of course, the storm hit!

Very shortly after however, it stopped

raining. After 45mins leaving the forest beautifully wet and green. The cloud left as soon as it came. It left

us with beautiful sun for us to enjoy. So in a nutshell, our day turned out perfect.

The wedding dress is something most women think about from the very beginning. I have seen a lot of them in the hundreds of weddings I have photographed through the years. I do have a favourite one or two, but that is not important. What I do like to see is a Bride not just put her dress on and carry on as normal, but rather a Bride who literally lights up when she puts her dress on. A Bride who when she walks… her dress moves with her and seems to be part of her, not something that is a hassle to get around in.

Incidentally, I love the dress in the photograph below.

As for the church… some couples are part of a church all their life so it is only a natural thing they get married at that location. But some couples may be less attached to a particular church, and this leaves their options open.

As a wedding photographer, we are always chasing good light, but an awesome church does help us take amazing ceremony images. St. Stephens in the Brisbane CBD is a classic example. The interior structure is magnificent, the light is great and there is plenty of room to move about. Not that room is the most important thing… the Chapel next to the Cathedral is totally the opposite, yet it too is one of my favourites. Nothing is more intimate than the Chapel yet we always do perform awesome wedding photography in there also.

I am very happy to show you a ‘snap shot’ of Meg and Stephens wedding.

After photographing the boys preparations, we proceeded to Megs parent’s house. When we left, they were being well looked after with Sushi being just delivered and I think there was some motorsport on the big screen. They were relaxed and ready.

Meg was well organised and we had plenty of time to capture her and the girls as they should have been. There was some incredible light about her Mum’s home… and we made good use of it. Her Dad was proud to get his car photogrpahed too with his daughter. He was beaming all day pretty much as was Mum

The Broadway Chapel was the Ceremony location and it was well and truly filled to the brim!

We finished off with a shoot at the Stamford Plaza and then Botanical a the bottom of Mt Cootha.

We stayed into the reception for a while and captured some great dancing. Well worth staying it was. The celebrations went on til after 12 midnight I was told by Meg and Stephen later in the week.

Megs wedding was one which I will never forget. It was a pleasure to be part of their wedding.

Tiarna and the girls undertook their preparations at her parents house. I was really concerned with hair and make up being done on time as both of these had a real late start. But the Bride was all ready when I got there and I was relieved

The end of August is such a great time to get married. Ask and Groom who is wearing a thick suit. He will agree for sure.

Any how, with the wedding near the Bay, we opted for a shoot at the Cleveland Point Light House. It was a tad windy but everyone had a great time with a bit of relaxing and a couple of drinks. We even got our feet a bit wet in the water.

We ended up at the reception on time. I always try to do this as it is important from a food preparation point of view and it gets the night off on time so if things start to run late, at least you are not behind the 8 ball from the beginning.

The couples wedding photography included some reception photography throughout the evening and some awesome photos were taken of her Grandfather at the dancing.

We do wedding photography, wedding cinematography, wedding video and nothing else. I find weddings to be the most pleasing and enjoyable event to photograph. I find being part of a couple’s day and charged with the job of capturing the story of the day via photography or cinematography a most wonderful way to spend my working life. I thrive on the responsibility of doing an exceptional job. I feel fulfilled as a professional wedding photographer when I see my couple re-living the day when they see their photos or movie for the first time.

So, what do we do exactly? We will ask you to visit the studio just south of the Brisbane CBD and meet with our wedding photographers. We will sit with you and find out what you want for your day photography wise and then actually deliver it! Sounds ridiculous I know, but I have heard so many stories on how a photographer has just run his own program on the day and ignored all instructions and guidelines a couple has asked for. If you leave it up to us, we will photograph your day in a photojournalistic manner, prompting rather than posing for the most part when something needs refining. We will at certain times ‘set things up’. For example a few shots throughout the day and certainly at family photos.

If you have a disk package, we will edit your photos, taking into consideration any instructions you may have given us and then get it to you.

If you have an album package, we will print all the images as proofs, get you to attend the studio to pick the photos for your album, design the album with the images you have chosen, ask you to make changes to the design if you wish before seeking your approval to produce the album. We will then ask you to collect your album from our studio.

If you have a movie, we will edit along the style you would have viewed in any of the show reels you may have viewed, taking into account any preferences you may have for this also, place the movie on a HD media player and ask you to attend the studio to collect it.

While the girls were getting ready, word came through that the boys were just getting back to their apartment from lunch… and were no where near getting ready. The boys always have it so much easier on a wedding day… but it does stress the bride out a bit.

Good lighting is what wedding photographers are always chasing when shooting a wedding. It was overcast in Brisbane today and Sarah’s rooms all had big amounts of glass that let in beautiful light. You can see this in her photographs. Once ready we went down to the street for a bit of a shoot… the clouds were getting darker

With the brides Dad having arrived and everyone happy, I departed for Boulevard Gardens at Indooroopilly, Brisbane to meet the boys, who had actually gotten ready on time as planned and were present! The mood is always a bit more relaxed with the groom and the Groomsmen compared to the girls, and this was the case today also, right up to when it started raining bucket loads… that never really stopped for the rest of the day. It did pause briefly for Sarah to get out of the car.

The wedding photography was awesome for the remainder of the day due to the couples outstanding attitude with not letting it ruin their day. We played in the water and had heaps of fun, and it shows in her photography. To achieve great shots, the main trick is to just ensure everyone is having fun, let them have a relax and a drink between shots, have some music playing and remember to photograph detail and moments that are going on all about the wedding all day long
